Healthy Snacks

I am a snacker. Especially when I’m bored, and unfortunately I bore easily. I usually don’t snack at home but with a stocked kitchen at work, I find myself grabbing a handful of crackers, a bag of sunchips, or a couple of cookies. Doesn’t sound too harmless but the kitchen has food in it all the time. The company has made an effort to buy healthier snacks with more fruit and less bagged candy, which has definitely helped with the snacking impulse. At least now I grab a banana!

I am constantly on the lookout for great new snacking ideas that I can pack and haul to work every morning. I came across this post about 88 snacks under 100 calories and found quite a few that were surprising.

Chocolate Covered StrawberriesChocolate Banana: Half a frozen banana dipped in two squares of melted dark chocolate.

Berries n’ Cream: 1 cup blueberries with 2 tablespoons whipped topping. (I love whipped topping!)

Chocolate Pudding: One 4oz package

Chocolate Covered Strawberries: Five strawberries dipped in two squares melted dark chocolate.

Jelly Beans: 25 of ‘em!

Pistachios: A couple handfuls— about 25 nuts (Crackin’ them open will take more time and avoid grabbing 25 more).

What are your favorite low calorie snacks?
